Chamberlain, the company behind myQ and its popular smart garage door controllers, is branching out from the garage with its first-ever indoor camera.
On sale now for $39.99, the myQ Smart Indoor Camera isn’t myQ’s only smart cam; the brand also offers the Smart Garage Camera, which we reviewed back in 2020, as well as a camera-equipped keypad.
But the new myQ Smart Indoor Camera is a tad more affordable than the $49.99 Smart Garage Camera, and as its name implies, it’s focused on monitoring the inside of your home rather than your garage and your vehicles.
This news story is part of TechHive’s in-depth coverage of the best smart garage door controllers as well as the best security cameras.
The Smart Indoor Camera arrives with 1080p video resolution, a 130-degree field of view, custom motion zones, and “smart” people and pet detection, although the latter two features require a subscription plan (more on that in a moment).
Two-way audio is supported, allowing you to chat with anyone within the camera’s view, while a “fully adjustable” mount allows for placement on tabletops and shelves.
With custom motion zones, the myQ Smart Indoor Camera allows you to confine motion detection to specified areas of the frame.

Naturally, the myQ Smart Indoor Camera integrates with the myQ app, meaning you’ll be able to view your indoor and garage camera feeds as well as control your myQ garage door controller from the same mobile interface.
For cloud video storage or smart motion alerts, you’ll need to subscribe to one of two myQ subscription plans (a third applies only to the brand’s “Secure View” garage door opener, which has an integrated camera).
The 7-Day mqQ plan offers seven days of video history along with detection zones, event notifications, and more for $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year, albeit for just a single camera.
For $9.99 a month or $9.99/year, the 30-Day plan ups the video history to a full 30 days for all your myQ cameras.
We’ll have a full review of the myQ Smart Indoor Camera once we spend some quality time with a review unit.
