At this time last year, the only way to get a pan/tilt camera from Ring was to buy its $100 Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In and a $45 accessory, or to buy the two items in a bundle for $145 (discounted to $130 as of yesterday). You’ll have a third option when the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam ships on May 30, and it’s available for pre-order today for just $79.99.
The new camera features a motor integrated into its base that increases its horizontal field of view to 360 degrees and allows the camera to tilt its lens up and down over a 169-degree arc.
This news story is part of TechHive’s in-depth coverage of the best home security cameras.
The specs for that motor are quite a bit stronger than Ring’s add-on accessory, which I reviewed two years ago, thanks in part to a longer stalk that puts the new camera’s body higher above its base. With both the accessory and this new model, the cameras can be deployed on a horizontal surface or mounted to a wall.
But as its name indicates, the new Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam is strictly for indoor use, where the Pan-Tilt mount can be used with a Stick Up Cam indoors or out (though you’ll need to buy an outdoor power supply if you pair it with the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery).
The new Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam (shown above) and the Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen) will be available in five colors, from left to right: White, Starlight, Blush, Charcoal, and Black.

The rest of the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam’s specs are typical of Ring’s other indoor cameras: 1080p resolution, color night vision, two-way talk, single-band Wi-Fi, and so on. It will also be equipped with the manually deployed privacy shield first introduced with the 2nd-gen Ring Indoor Cam. When this mechanism is moved over the camera’s lens, it automatically turns off both the camera’s video and its microphone.
Ring’s other news is that both its new Pan Tilt Indoor Cam and its recently introduced Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen) will soon be available in colors other than white or white: Blush (pink), Charcoal (gray), and Starlight (off-white).
You can pre-order the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam in black or white today for $79.99. Ring expects to begin shipping the new camera on May 30. As for the new colors, Ring says they will be available “soon.”
We’ll publish an in-depth hands-on review of the Ring Pan Tilt Indoor camera as soon as we receive a review unit.
